Leadership

The problem

Projects were bottlenecked on the small number of members confident enough to lead one.

Objectives

Give thirty members the specific skills a project lead needs, and let them practise on a real proposal rather than a hypothetical one.

What we did

Six weekly sessions on facilitation, proposal writing, budgeting and monitoring. Each participant submitted a real proposal for committee review at the end.

What we learned

Eleven of the thirty proposals were approved and four are now running. The cohort model works and will run twice a year.

Reported outcomesverified where possible.
