Using this site

The site is free to read. It asks for no account, sets no cookie on a visitor and measures nothing, so you do not have to identify yourself to read any page here.

The club has not settled terms for reusing what it publishes, so this page neither grants nor withholds permission. If you want to reproduce something from here, ask through the contact form and somebody will answer you.

Where these terms stand

Membership is governed by the club's constitution, not by this website. Where the two disagree, the constitution applies — and that covers eligibility, dues, discipline and every question about who is a member.

Applying for membership

Submitting the form on this site is an application, not an admission. A committee decides on it, and until it does you are an applicant.

The form records your answers as your own declaration. Nothing you enter is verified by the software, including the eligibility questions — the constitution's tests are applied by the committee, deliberately, because a box ticked automatically would look on their screen exactly like one ticked by an officer who had actually checked.

The form asks you to accept the club's commitments and these terms. What it collects, who can see it and what removal reaches are set out on the privacy page, and that page is worth reading before you send it.

Registering for an event

Places are first come, first served up to the capacity shown on the event, counting everyone registered by any route. No place is held back for anybody, there is no waiting list, and being a member does not move you up. One registration per email address per event; the same address may register for at most five events an hour through this site.

Figures and information on this site

Figures shown here are counted from the club's own records at the moment the page is built, not typed in by hand. Where the club has no record of something, the site says so rather than estimating it — so a section showing nothing is a section with nothing to show, not a page that failed to load.

Donations

Donations are made by transfer directly to the club's own accounts and recorded by the Treasurer. There is no card checkout on this site and it never asks for card details. If any page claiming to be this club asks you for a card number, it is not this site.

When these terms were set

The committee has not yet recorded a date on which it adopted these terms, so no date is shown at the top of this page. They describe the site as it stands, and they have to be changed when it changes.
